FoodYoga Marathon is an exceptional wellness challenge that expects thousands of people across the globe to digitally join the FoodYoga revolution by performing 108 rounds (54 sets) of Surya Namaskar in a specified time. This event will take place digitally from 24th Sept, 2022 - 25th Sept, 2022. The target of FoodYoga Marathon is to make individuals mindful of the advantages of yoga and teach its importance. All individuals from age 16-65+ are welcome to participate in this world record.

108 - Yoga’s Sacred Number

In yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion. It is why Japa Malas are composed of 108 beads, why pranayama is often completed in cycles of 108, and why Surya Namaskar is often performed in 108 rounds. By practicing chanting, breathwork, or asana in rounds of this sacred number, the ancient yogis believed we could align ourselves with the rhythm of the creation, and ultimately bring an end to our cycle of reincarnation.108 seems to be a mysterious number that connects the ancient world to the modern world and also connects the physical realm to the metaphysical realm. The number is sacred in mathematics, geometry, astrology, numerology and in many world religions and spiritual traditions.

The Yogic Diet

Yoga is much more than just twisting, turning and bending your body. The eight limbs or the eight fold path of yoga provides extensive ways to manage the physical, mental and spiritual energy of the self. Our eating habits play a major role in preventing and curing diseases, making us mindful, spiritual and emotionally balanced. The yogic practice is incomplete without consuming right food in order to reap the maximum benefits.


Three major categories in which yogis divide food Items:

  • Sattvic - The organic & Purest form of the food, which offer feeling of calmness and happiness
  • Rajasik - Food items that are overly stimulated
  • Tamsik - Food items that believes to make people impatient / Intolerant / Quarrelsome

Anyone who is practising yoga should always go for sattvic diet - The Sattvic food items help in increasing the life energy bringing about healthy digestion while providing optimum nutrition. You can include the food item in your daily routine

FAQ About Marathon
Best time to do Suryanamaskar is in the evening. Incase you don't get time you may do it 4-5 hours before you sleep.
Always listen to your body. Exert your body only to the extent you are comfortable. Eat a good pre yoga meal and keep hydrated for a constant energy source.

Yes,you may. Please also note that every participant must fill the attendance form shared during the FoodYoga Marathon individually.
After the event has ended you will receive a link, upload your details in the form and your certificates will be generated. People who are attempting 54 SN or 108 SN will also have to upload their video recordings on the link, our team will verify your claim from the video and approve your certificate which will be sent on mail as well as whatsapp. This usually takes about 3-4 days and your certificates will be released.
If you are participating as yoga team or yoga studio and you've qualified for either bronze, silver, gold or platinum certificate our team will be verifying your participants who have attended the event and will get back to you with the certificate details very soon. Team certificates should reach you within 7-8 days from the event. In case they've not reached, do reach out to our team with your Sattviko event mananger whom you are in touch with or reach out to us at "[email protected]".
No! It is not required for your team to join at the same time they all can register in different time slots. Please remember to enter your details in the attendence form that is shared during the event and put your team names in it. This makes it easier for us to know when your team has joined.
No, its not compulsory, every member of the team can do as many Surya Namaskar as they are comfortable with. We will be counting the total number of Surya Namaskars your team in totality as done, so everybodys Surya Namaskar will be added and then a final score will be considered.
Closer to the event our teams are going to send out calender invites to everyone, you can book your prefered time slot on your prefered date as per your time zone, though there are many time slots but there are limited seats in every time slot so we encourage you to book your prefered time slot as early as possible to avoid any inconvience.
It is very easy to join the marathon on the event day. If you have already registered on the link, got your login details and you have already booked your time slots from the calender invite that was sent to you, then you should have received a zoom invite for that particular time slot on that particular day, now all you need to do is switch on the laptop or your mobile phone with your cameras on, login to zoom with your mat and start doing Surya Namaskar when prompted to.
To register for the marathon you need to first register on the website, if you haven't registered on the website or don't know where to register, then register on "www.Sattviko.com/Marathon", once you register here you will receive an email as well as a whatsapp with your login details, if your haven't received your detials yet drop a line on "[email protected]" or a whatsapp on "+91-9625053728" our teams will get in touch with you with all of your details.
The marathon happens over 2 days to accommodate all our participants from around the world and all of our time zones but you don't have to participate on both the days, if you participate on your given time zone on either one of the days then that should do.
Any person from anywhere, of any gender, of any age can participate in this free marathon, there is no charge for it.
